A warm South Asian family sharing a healthy, vibrant meal at their dining table

"No separate meals, no cultural erasure."

The Ishani Promise

The 'Triple Cooking' Burden

"I cook 3 different meals for my family every night, and mine is always last."

South Asian women frequently carry the burden of family health decisions while struggling to align traditional diets with modern health requirements.

Reconnect health with heritage: Ishani Health provides the intelligence to modify, not the mandate to replace.

The Cultural Gap

"We identify as vegetarian, but in reality we’re Carbatarian—too much roti and rice, not enough of what our bodies actually need."

The Exhaustion

Cooking separate "healthy" meals after everyone else is fed.

The Guilt

Serving carb-heavy favorites while worrying about long-term health.

Intelligent Adjustments, Not Erased Traditions

Ishani Health provides actionable, culturally-specific nutrition intelligence that empowers women to make intelligent adjustments to traditional recipes—ensuring one meal works for the whole family's health.

1

Keep the Essence

Keep your rotis, daal, and sabzi. We adapt the dishes your family already loves.

2

Modify the Chemistry

Learn heritage-friendly swaps that stabilize blood sugar without changing the taste profile.

3

Empower the Family

Angela Malik-Agarwal

"People do not abandon heritage. They abandon advice that ignores it."

Why I'm building this.

This started with my mum. A few years ago she was recovering from a serious illness, and none of the medical advice we received fit how our family actually eats. Telling a South Asian family to "eat more vegetables and less carbs" without understanding that our entire cultural food identity is built around dal, roti, rice, and sabzi is not advice—it's a translation error.

Rather than waiting for the right guidance to arrive, I changed the way I cooked for her. Her food, adjusted, not replaced. Within a year, she had recovered fully.

Ishani Health is that idea, built at scale.
